Find funding to achieve your goals. 

At The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, students have access to more than 250 scholarships, awards and fellowships to assist with tuition and other college expenses. 

These types of financial aid, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid. Funds may be awarded based on merit, financial need or other criteria.

How to apply

The application process for scholarships at Arizona State University can be completed online. Visit the ASU Scholarship Universe to search for and submit applications. 

You will be asked to enter your personal information. Enter your major within The College in the “major” search field to yield all results for eligible scholarships. Students who complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be eligible for consideration for scholarships that require financial need.

Many of the scholarship application deadlines are typically in February and March each year. However, it’s important that you review deadlines carefully as they do vary. Scholarship award recipients will be notified in May via ASU email.

Opportunities at The College

Here are a few scholarships available for students at The College. You can view all funding opportunities that you are eligible to apply for through the Scholarship Universe

This scholarship supports two Navy ROTC students enrolled in The College on the Tempe campus. Typically, two scholarships of approximately $1,500 each are awarded each year.

Rob and Michele Page have personal ties to the U.S. military and established this scholarship to honor family members and support ASU students who will or have served in the military.

This scholarship supports one student who is a U.S. military veteran and first-generation student enrolled in The College on the Tempe campus with approximately $2,000 for the academic year.

Rob and Michele Page have personal ties to the U.S. military and established this scholarship to honor family members and support ASU students who will or have served in the military. The Colonel Ernest L. Morton, Jr. Endowed Scholarship is named in honor of Michele’s father, who was a career officer with the Army.

This scholarship supports one student in the fraternity or sorority system pursuing an academic degree in the social sciences division in The College on the Tempe campus. One scholarship of approximately $3,200 will be awarded each year.

Donors and alumni Kathleen Ybarra Duffy and Frank Ybarra have a long, treasured relationship with ASU. Kathleen is an alumna of The College and has invested the greater portion of her post-graduation career as a volunteer for ASU in various capacities. Frank was an ASU graphic design student in the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts.

Students invited to participate in The College Early Start program may apply for Early Start scholarships, which are designed to support Early Start program participants with demonstrated financial need.

Only one application is required for all Early Start scholarships. Scholarship funds will only be disbursed to selected successful applicants who participate in the Early Start program for their major.

Faire Elizabeth Virgin Sax Scholarships are available for students from Mohave County, Arizona. The scholarship may be renewable if the recipient continues to meet necessary criteria.

Arizona native Faire’s loyalty to where she grew up led her to create scholarships for first-generation college students from Mohave County to enroll in and graduate from college. Faire herself graduated from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College with a two-year degree in education in 1927 and taught until she was 75 years old.

First-generation college students enrolled in undergraduate degree programs in The College on the Tempe campus may apply for first-generation scholarships. Students are only required to submit one application to be considered for all first-generation scholarships they are eligible for. Award amounts vary, with awards typically ranging from $750 to $6,500 per academic year.

Irwin R. Sheer and Yvonne H. Sheer Endowed Scholarships are available for first-generation students who are Arizona residents. Approximately three scholarships of $5,000-$6,000 are awarded each year.

Donors Irwin R. and Yvonne H. Sheer wish to reduce the burden of financing students’ education so students can focus on their studies.This fund provides assistance to motivated undergraduate students of The College pursuing a degree in the natural sciences division who demonstrate financial need.

The College offers one scholarship available for students who study and/or travel abroad during their academic career at ASU. The intent of this scholarship is to provide students with a better understanding of international relations through experiencing different cultures and other ways of living.

The OURS program provides scholarships to ASU Online students enrolled in degree programs through The College and currently participating in research. Preference is given to students with high financial need and are participating in research at ASU.

The Sheldon Davidson Family Research Scholarship is a tribute to Dr. Sheldon Davidson’s interest in lifelong learning and his distinguished career in medicine. To encourage and support undergraduate research that demonstrates an ability to think about contemporary issues and to resolve them with innovative solutions, the Sheldon Davidson Family Research Scholarship was established.
