Duffy Ybarra Family Scholarship

This scholarship shall provide support for one student enrolled in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the Tempe campus, pursuing an academic degree in the social sciences division. One scholarship of approximately $1,200 will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year. The donors have a preference for students active in the fraternity or sorority system at Arizona State University.

Students must complete and submit an application through ASU’s Scholarship Portal.

Criteria

General criteria for the Duffy Ybarra Family Scholarship

Recipients must:

  • Be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) when receiving the scholarship.
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Tempe campus.
  • Have demonstrated financial need (by FAFSA).
  • Be currently pursuing an academic degree in the Social Sciences division of The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Eligibility- students who are currently enrolled at ASU, transfer students from a college, university or community college.

Preference- Preference to students currently active in the fraternity or sorority system at Arizona State University.

About Kathleen Ybarra Duffy and Frank Ybarra

The donors have a long and treasured relationship with Arizona State University. Kathleen Ybarra Duffy is an alumna of The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and has invested the greater portion of her alumna career as a volunteer for ASU, the ASU Alumni Association, The College and Greek system on campus. She is a past Chair of the ASU Alumni Board of Directors and is a leader in The College. Frank Ybarra was an ASU graphic design student in the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, preparing him for a long and successful career in graphic, illustrative and is a highly recognized Southwestern artist. The Ybarras are proud parents of an ASU and The College alumna.
