Doug Burkett joined Zila, an innovator in preventative health care technologies and products, in 1995 as director of research, development and manufacturing. In June 2002, he was appointed president and CEO, and in September 2002, he also was named chairman. Phoenix-based Zila has garnered significant national media attention this year for its ViziLite® oral-cancer screening device, and the firm received FDA approval in February for a new cancer-detection agent that Burkett developed when he first joined Zila.
